Celebrate the Beauty and History of the Bartlet Mall
Join the Bartlet Mall Commission and the Newburyport Parks on October 7 from 11-2 (rain date October 8) to celebrate the beauty and history of the Bartlet Mall. Listen to live historical flute, fiddle, and guitar music from O'Carolan Etcetera, enjoy beer* from Newburyport Brewing Company, and indulge in food* from Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Newburyport, all while learning about the historical features of the Mall from local experts. At the heart of the event we have partnered with the Preservation Trust, the Cushing House Museum, the Custom House Museum, Bethany Dorau of Historic New England, and Friends of the Bartlet Mall to provide signage and experts to explain many of the historical features of the Mall. The courthouse will also be open for tours Bring the kids! Nice People of Newburyport, the Greater Newburyport Mothers and Families Club, the Newburyport Fire Department, Theater in the Open, and the Newburyport Parks Department will be on hand with a group art project, spin art, an old-time firetruck, costumed participants, and tractor rides.* *Beer, food, non-alcoholic drinks, tractor rides, and raffle tickets available for cash purchase. Additional donations welcome! All proceeds benefit the restoration and beautification of the Bartlet Mall.
